Tai Chi | Peterborough Club win 6 Medals

A small Peterborough Tai Chi club won six medals, including two gold, at a major competition in London on Sunday (June 1)




Peterborough based club, The Tian Zhao Lin Tai Chi Association, competed at the London event, Competition for Traditional Tai Chi Chuan, which attracts an International entry and is now considered one of the major competitions in the UK.

Pippa Timmins and Costa Mavromatis grabbed golds in Tai Chi Yang Style sword and Intermediate Yang empty hand form. Emily Edwards won bronze in the empty hand event. Mark Corcoran, Chief Instructor, grabbed a silver and bronze in Yang Tai Chi with Spear and the Open Yang Empty Hand form.

The medal haul was completed with a bronze in the mixed style Advanced Empty Hand form by Caroline Glynn.

The event attracted close on 200 competitors from Hong Kong, Hungary, Spain and Canada, along with entrants from all over the UK, representing all of the major Tai Chi styles.

“I am very happy about our performance in London,” said Corcoran who has been teaching Tai Chi Chuan as well as practising acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Peterborough for almost 20 years.
