Nine members of Yorkshire-based Leeds Karate Academy have been selected to represent Japan Karate Shotorenmei (JKS) England at the forthcoming European Karate Championships.
Copenhagen, Denmark, will be hosting these Championships on September 12th - 14th, and is a major International Tournament on the Karate calendar.
The selected members are: Ashley Scott (squad captain), Joe Hart, Stephen Brown, James Brown, Melissa Finlay, Emelye O'Brien, Richard Fewkes, Oliver Deane and Tom Mitchell.
“To have nine international competitors from Leeds Karate Academy is an amazing achievement and I am sure they can bring back some more silverware to the region,” said club instructor Sensei Matt Price, himself a former European champion.
