Karate | City of Liverpool Youth Karate Championships

The 12th City of Liverpool Youth Karate Championships took place on 1st June, with over 100 entrants.


The competition was an ideal moment to showcase some of the UK's top Karate talent coming up through the ranks.

The competition consisted of both Kumite and Kata.

St Helens School of Karate claimed 2 medals with Nicole Donoghue grabbing the female junior Kunite and Kata titles.

Northern Ireland club, Zanshin Karate also grabbed a couple of titles in the Kumite through Dylan McClosky and Kevin Diamond, who won the boys 10-11 year and 12-15 year brackets respectively.

Karate members of the  USKF (United Shotokan Karate Federation) from Dublin managed to grab 3 honours, including the Kata Team title.
