Josh McManus is heading to Las Vegas later this month for the World Amateur MMA Championship.
Fighters from 20 countries will be heading to the States for the event that starts on Monday, June 30, and McManus has been picked to represent Britain at welterweight.
The 19-year-old is trained by father Jamie at the 1st Legion Fighters Gym in the city centre, and has been called up after winning the Punch Up Promotions British and ICO English titles.
The trip to Vegas is self-funded and McManus is hoping for the backing of local businesses to cover costs.
